About the Department

The Department of Economics at Ghaghra Science College, Bagodar is dedicated to developing analytical thinking, economic reasoning, and an informed understanding of socio-economic issues among students. Economics, as a discipline, equips learners to interpret how individuals, institutions, markets, and governments interact in a dynamic and changing world.

The Department was established in 2021 and functions under the academic framework of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag. Over the years, the Department has aligned itself with evolving higher education reforms, including the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for the session 2021-24 and the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP–2020) from the academic session 2022-26 onwards as per the guidelines of the University.

Through classroom teaching, discussions, and applied learning, the department aims to prepare students for academic advancement, competitive examinations, and diverse career pathways. The Department under the able leadership of H.O.D. Dr. Ranjan Kumar is performing well in the field.
