The Department of Khortha at Ghaghra Science College, Bagodar is dedicated to the study, preservation, and promotion of Khortha, a prominent regional language of Jharkhand. Established in the year 2021, the Department plays a vital role in nurturing linguistic identity, cultural heritage, and regional literature among students.

Khortha, as a language of the masses, reflects the social life, folklore, traditions, and collective wisdom of the region. The department aims to provide academic exposure to Khortha language and literature while strengthening students’ cultural roots and creative expression.
